Timeline:
0:00 – 0:30 The Bloom
Pour just enough water to saturate the grounds and start your timer. Water weight should be 50g.
0:30 – 2:00 The Pour
Slowly pour the rest of the water in a controlled, circular motion, aiming to reach the total water weight of 0g by the 2:00 mark.
2:00 – 3:30 The Final Drip
Allow the remaining water to drip through the grounds until the timer reaches 3:30.
Why Pour-Over?
We think the pour-over is a great way to taste the unique qualities of coffee. It’s all about a simple, hands-on process that gives you complete control. It takes a bit of time, but the reward is a cup that really lets the coffee shine.
What You’ll Need
Pour-Over Dripper
Like a V60 or Chemex
Gooseneck Kettle
For a steady, precise pour
Digital Scale
With a built-in timer
Our Fresh Beans
Freshly roasted, whole beans
Paper Filters
Sized for your dripper
Your Favorite Mug
Or cup to brew into
Prep Your Station
Boil your water, then let it cool for a minute or two. Place your dripper, filter, and mug on the scale.
Rinse the Filter
Give the paper filter a quick rinse with hot water. This warms everything up and gets rid of any paper taste.
Add the Coffee
Measure and grind your beans. We use a 1:16 ratio—so for every 1 gram of coffee, use 16 grams of water. Give the grounds a gentle shake to level them.
The “Bloom”
Start your timer and pour just enough water to get all the grounds wet. Wait for about 30 seconds while the coffee “blooms” and releases its aroma.
The Main Pour
Pour the rest of your water slowly and evenly in a circular motion. Try to finish your pour by the 2-minute mark.
Enjoy Your Coffee!
Once it’s done dripping, remove the dripper and give your cup a swirl. You’ve just made a perfect pour-over.
